The Ghana Football Association president revealed that the Black Stars will have a new coach within two weeks after the sacking of Otto Addo.
He also confirmed that they have received more than 600 applications from coaches across the world for the vacant position.
Category A coaches like Joaquim Loew, Winfried Schafer, Herve Renard, Kwasi Appiah, among so many others, have been linked to the job.
Veteran football administrator and politician, Dr Nyaho Tamakloe, has urged the government and the sports ministry to hire a top-notch coach for the Black Stars ahead of the World Cup if there is enough money.
“If the government has the money, they should pay well and go for a top-class coach,” Dr Nyaho Tamakloe told Graphic Sports, underlining the reality that elite expertise comes at a premium.
“Some coaches can turn teams around quickly,” he added.
The politburos of the senior national team are hesitating to hire a top-notch coach because of their monthly salaries.
Rumours say that Hervé Renard was on a monthly salary of $500,000 when he was coaching Saudi Arabia. 2014 World Cup winner, Joaquim Loew, will take around 200,000 euros per month.
Coaches like Kwesi Appiah and Winfried Schafer will accept a salary of $50,000 per month.
Ghanaians are anxiously waiting for the man who will lead the team to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
