Obituary| Veteran football administrator Abbey Pobbey confirmed dead

The Ghanaian Football community is mourning the death of one of the biggest brains, Mr Abbey Pobbey Jonathan, who has passed away after battling illness.

The former administrator of Neoplan Stars is well known for his passion for youth football, as its development was his priority.

Mr Pobbey was someone who was always after fairness and transparency in Ghana’s football after criticising administrators at the Ghana Football Association’s headquarters for being corrupt and having less love for the development of the game.

He was a friend of the media as he was always contacted for ideas by almost all the media houses in the country.

Ghana Football Association has not announced the passing away of Abbey Pobbey. His family is expected to announce his demise and plans for his burial and funeral.
