The lifeless body of a prison officer has been found in River Pompo at Pomposo, a suburb in the Obuasi East District in the Ashanti Region.

The victim, identified as Constable Clement Tei Gyabah, was seen in the river along with his motorbike, though the circumstances leading to the incident remain unclear.

According to the eyewitness’s account, the officer was seen riding his motorcycle to work around 5 am on Wednesday, July 30, from Asokore when it was drizzling.

Some believe that he veered off the road, hitting a motorcycle on a concrete barricade, while others believe he was hit by a moving car on that stretch, which led to the unfortunate incident due to a heavy cut found on parts of his body.

The Police have retrieved the body and deposited it at the morgue pending investigations.
