“Obviously no one likes getting older, but we have to take it” – Cristiano Ronaldo says as he turns 40

In an interview with the Spanish TV channel LaSexta, Cristiano Ronaldo, who is 40 today, boastfully said, “I think I’m the most complete player ever.

“I finish well with my head, I take free kicks, and I shoot well with my right and left foot. To say that Cristiano isn’t complete is a lie. I’m the best in history. The numbers don’t lie,” the Portuguese superstar added.

Football has witnessed so many joyful eras filled with talented players like Pele, Maradona, Van Basten, Ronaldo Nazario, and Zinedine Zidane, among many stars.

The era of Messi-Ronaldo could go down as probably the best rivalry in the history of sports.

Both stars dazzled, entertained, and pleased football crowds to the fullest. The sad reality is that the duo are at the twilight of their incredible careers.

Ronaldo is almost two and a half years Messi’s senior. The former Manchester United and Portugal forward has little time at the top of world football albeit he is yet to show signs of slowing down.

Ahead of his birthday, Ronaldo was asked whether he loves celebrating 5th February as it marks his birthday.

“Do you like to celebrate your birthday?

“I like to celebrate years; there are many people who don’t like it, but I like it, and I think it’s a good sign. Obviously, no one likes getting older, but we have to take it and not stress about it. I think it’s beautiful, and it’s a sign that we’re alive. That’s how I see it; it’s a special moment to be with friends and family, and turning years is a sign that we’re here,” Ronaldo answered.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a family man who cherishes his extended and nuclear families.
