Nigerian super striker Victor Osimhen is unquestionably one of the best strikers currently in the world.

After firing Napoli to their first Serie A title in over three decades a couple of seasons ago, he has been putting up an incredible performance in the Turkish Super Lig after scoring 20 goals and providing four assists in 22 games.

In an interview on TalkSportUK during the Weekend Sports Breakfast, Nigerian captain Troost-Ekong waxed lyrical about his Super Eagles teammate and hinted at him joining a Premier League club in the next summer transfer window.

“I know he (Osimhen) is a Chelsea fan, but I also know he’s had talks with all the top teams. It’s up to him what he chooses. He will fit into every team,” Ekong said.

“I know Liverpool have spoken about getting a new striker next season. We will see.

Liverpool will probably sign a new striker in the summer, and there are rumours that Arne Slot is a big fan of the Nigerian striker.

“I’m also reading like everyone else is, that he has a clause this summer. When he went to Galatasaray I think it worked out amazingly for him.

“I couldn’t see him playing there for another season, or anywhere else but the Premier League next season,” Troost-Ekong revealed.

Playing in the Premier League is many West African footballers’ dream, and Osimhen is not an exception.

Osimehen’s release clause is believed to be around £63million, while he would require top-level wages too in the region of £200,000 a week.

“It’s the part he’s working on the most. His qualities are his tenacity, he’s relentless, he’ll chase down every ball. In the air he’s amazing. You can play the ball up to him and he’ll hold the ball up,” William Troost-Ekong described his teammate well.

“If he’s one-on-one in the box, or you cross it in, he’s going to score.

“He’s direct so I think that’s why he would suit the Premier League.”

The 26-year-old striker will be in huge demand for the European super clubs, especially the English clubs.
