Two individuals in custody at the Kadjebi Police Station in the Oti Region have escaped after attacking a female officer who was on duty.

Reports indicate that the suspects took advantage of the fact that Lance Corporal Gyapong, the only female officer on duty, was present.

They are reported to have damaged the cell door, assaulted the officer, and then escaped.

One suspect has reportedly been arrested, while another is still at large. A reward of Gh¢2,000 is being offered for information that leads to the capture of the remaining suspect.

The Police Commander of the Kadjebi District confirmed the incident in an interview, stating that significant efforts are being made to recapture the suspect.

Lance Corporal Gyapong, who was attacked by the suspect, was reportedly taken to the St. Mary Theresa Catholic Hospital in Dodi-Papase is available for medical care.
