Ghana captain Andre Dede Ayew has missed out once again in Otto Addo’s 23-man-squad for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers. Ghana is set to play Angola in Kumasi and Niger in Morocco.
It is increasingly looking clear that Otto Addo doesn’t have Dede Ayew in his plans now. When the gathered journalists asked the head coach his thoughts on the captain’s absence, he sarcastically gave Dede a huge task before he can get back into the team.
“Andre Ayew is a good player, but at the moment, he is not here. He doesn’t have a club, but nobody knows the future,” Addo stated.
“If he getts a club, performs well, and scores 20 goals, then maybe he can return. We are focused on building something for the future.”
To score 20 goals in European football is not a joke and even 26-year-olds struggle to hit that target. Giving Dede Ayew such condition confirms Otto Addo’s plans without the captain.
