Otto Addo’s return to the Black Stars will always be remembered by Ghanaians because he failed to qualify for the 2025 AFCON. It was the first time the Black Stars had failed to qualify for the FACON since 2004.

Former Black Stars midfielder Agyeman Badu has defended Otto Addo by revealing that he has the potential to improve the Blac Stars

“I’m not the one who appointed him, but for every work each person is doing, they want to succeed”, Agyeman Badu said.

“The coach, too, wants to succeed in his work with the Black Stars. I don’t think the stats show that he has done badly.

“There is more room for improvement. Let’s wait and play the two matches. There’s more time to deliberate on his future after,” he said in an interview on Asempa FM.

Otto Addo, after being under immense pressure for failing to qualify for Morocco 2025, has been performing well in the World Cup qualifiers, where Ghana sits on top of Group I, leading second-place Comoros by three points.

Black Stars will end the FIFA World Cup qualifiers with a trip to Morocco to face the Central African Republic and host Comoros in Accra in rounds 9 and 10.
