Ace journalist Moses Foh-Amoaning has criticised the Ghana Football Association’s decision to reappoint Otto Addo as Ghana’s head coach. The ace broadcaster compared Otto Addo to a national service personnel who is learning on the job and hence must not be allowed to occupy a verb big position like Otto Addo’s.
In an interview with Oyerepa FM’s sports, Moses Foh-Amoaning stated that Otto Addo is not the right fit for the Black Stars job. He is a scout coach, learning on the job like doing national service”, he said.
Otto Addo has come under severe criticism after the Black Stars failed to impress in almost all the games they have played since his return in March 2024.
After a year and a half at the helm of affairs, the Black Stars were expected to be good, but have yet to show the signs.
“The Ghana football Association knows this, and that is the reason why they have brought in Winfried Schafer to improve the technical team’s quality”, he concluded.
German veteran tactician Winfried Schafer was brought on board to add his immense experience to Otto Addo’s coaching team, with many suspecting that the former AFCON winner will take over from Otto Addo if results do not improve.
Ghana sits on top of Group I of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with only two rounds of matches to go. The 1-1 draw against Chad was probably Ghana’s worst result in the last two decades, and Otto Addo must double the efforts of the team because many have lost hope in him, although the narrow victory over Mali calmed things down.
