Ghana Football Association met Otto Addo on Friday and demanded his technical report concerning Ghana’s failure in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
The Ghana Football Association described their meeting with Otto Addo as “open and candid” stating that it was a successful one and they trust the coach to lead Ghana to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Reports have it that Otto Addo delivered a comprehensive 56-page technical report that analysed the team’s failure to qualify for the AFCON 2025
Otto Addo indirectly blamed Ghana’s failure on a lack of discipline, accountability and trust among the players.
Part of Otto Addo’s statement read, “I want to outline key areas that needed enhancement going forward. He indicated that he intends to build a strong and cohesive system that fosters discipline, accountability, and trust among players and the backroom staff while emphasising a clear and recognisable playing philosophy.”
Ghana’s disappointing AFCON qualifiers campaign was filled with indiscipline as players were spotted angrily exchanging words after Ghana’s 2-0 defeat in Libya against Sudan. Before that, Jordan Ayew had been captured in a tete-a-tete with Sudan head coach Kwesi Appiah in the Accra Sports Stadium tunnel, forcing Ghanaians to speculate that he was not happy at all with Kudus wearing the captain’s armband whilst he was around.
Black Stars truly needs everything new because the issues Otto Addo identified have bedevilled the team for a very long time.
