The record Ghanaian high jumper, Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah, 22, has exited the 2024 Olympic Games after failing to pass the 1.92m mark.

The two-time African champion cleared successfully the bar, 1.83m and 1.88m on her second and third attempts respectively.

However, the Ghanaian’s shot at the 1.92m mark, which is even below her personal best (PB) which stands at 1.97m was unsuccessful.

Rose Yeboah is currently the best female high jumper in Africa, having won gold at the African Games earlier this year.

She also won a gold medal in the women’s high jump at the African Athletics Seniors Championships in Douala, Cameroon in June after scaling a height of 1.87m.

She is the second Ghanaian athlete to bow out of the ongoing Olympic Games. Harry Stacey, swimmer, exited the competition in his first attempt.
