Paul Pogba’s doping ban kept him out of football for nearly two years. The French World Cup winner was banned in September 2023 after testing positive for dehydroepiandrosterone DHEA- a substance football’s anti-doping organisation has banned due to it raising testosterone.

Pogba initially was banned for 4 years, but was later reduced to 18 months. Paul has been cleared to play active football since March 2025, and he will get his first taste when Monaco starts pre-season ahead of the 2025-26 season.

The French midfielder has agreed to a two-year contract with French side AS Monaco, per the club. The midfielder had offers from Brazilian, Saudi Arabian and American clubs but chose to stay in Europe, especially France, in a bid to win Didier Deschamps’ trust again for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The French midfielder has played for Manchester United and Juventus and will, for the first time, play in the French top tier of football.

Pogba has won 91 caps for the French senior national team and is expected to return to help solve their midfield problems.
