English journalist and media personality Piers Morgan has questioned Arsenal their reason for letting Partey play for the club since 2022.
The 60-year-old who is a staunch Arsenal supporter has expressed his shock at his beloved club for letting the Ghanaian midfielder be part of the Gunners even when they knew he was under investigation for rape.
“Whoa.. so all the rumours were true. And the charges involve THREE women. Partey is innocent until proven guilty, but Arsenal will now face some very difficult questions about the decision to let him continue to play for 3 years, on full pay. What did the police tell the club?” Piers Morgan said.
Thomas Partey has been under serious investigation since 2022, and many expected the club to have cancelled his contract, but instead the club continued to employ him and to some extent shielded him.
The 32-year-old Ghanaian midfielder is due to appear at court on August 2025 for 5 counts of rape charges. Partey and Arenal failed to renew his contract after the five years he signed in 2020 from Atletico Madrid ended. Many now believe it is because of his rape case that’s why the club allowed him to leave.
