Ghana Premier League is still on suspension with no date set for its return.
In week 19 of the GPL, Asante Kotoko’s trip to Nsoatre ended in a disaster with the Porcupine Warriors’ chief supporter, Pooley, being killed.
The death of the fan has led to many people calling for massive changes in Ghana’s domestic football.
Ghanaians want justice for Pooley before football actions resume across the various league centres, especially on security.
The General Secretary of Ghana Football Association, Prosper Harrison Addo has assured fans that the FA will soon announce the return of the league.
“We will make that engagement and announce a date for the resumption of the (GPL) league. We will plead with the supporters to be patient; [announcement] will be done soon. Matches will not come off this weekend, but we are moving as fast as we can,” Harrison Addo told Asempa FM in an interview.
GFA’s decision to plan for the announcement of the return of the GPL will meet huge criticisms from Ghanaians because they are not happy with how things are run in football.
