It is either the Black Stars secure a slot for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be played across the USA-CANADA-MEXICO or everybody around the team will lose his/her job. It is so simple.
Black Stars’ performances in 2024 were unacceptable, with Ghanaians expecting something different in 2025 which can lead the team to qualify for the World Cup.
Assistant head coach of the Black Stas, Desmond Offei has assured Ghanaians of massive improvement in the team in the games against Chad and Madagascar.
“Yeah, it’s about trying to improve on every level. Like I said before, both on and off the pitch, we’ve identified areas where we need improvement, and it’s something we’ve been actively discussing,” Offei stated.
Black Stars showed so many weaknesses during the 2025 AFCON qualifiers and the deputy head coach Desmond Offei has confirmed they have been working on those weaknesses.
“We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to address any shortcomings and refine our approach. We’re collaborating with experienced professionals and a determined head coach who is hungry to achieve success—most importantly, qualifying for the World Cup.”
The assistant coach discussed how important it will be for the team if Ghanaians decide to support the Black Stars fully again.
“It’s not just about the team; off the pitch, we need to regain the fans’ trust and bring back the love. That comes through performances and winning games. At this level, every team wants to qualify, so it’s up to us to deliver when it matters most,” Offei concluded.
Ghana will host Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium and travel to Morocco to face Madagascar in rounds 5 and 6 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
