Davido gifting Ghanaian TikToker Ananzo $500,000 was beyond belief, as no one in Ghana has heard that a Ghanaian artist has gifted anybody that huge amount for promoting his songs.
When Davido promised that he was going to bless Ananzo with dough, it was then that criticisms and scrutiny of Ghanaian artists started.

Speaking during an interview with Amansan Krakye, Quamina MP has denied the allegations that Ghanaian musicians are not as stingy as people think.
Quamina said, “Davido giving Ananzo Official $5,000 doesn’t mean Ghanaian artistes are stingy, as some people might want to make it look like. Maybe a Ghanaian musician can give him more than that amount, but will never make it public.”
“You never know how other Ghanaian artistes are supporting him (Ananzo) behind the scenes with numerous gifts for promoting our music. Unless we make it public before you know, but I will never say that no Ghanaian musician has given him anything, or we are stingy as people claim”, he added.
Ananzo is probably the biggest hype man of Ghanaian music, having been spotted uncountably singing word for word to songs from Black Sheriff, Shatta Wale, Kweku Smoke, Sarkodie, Yaa Jackson, among many others. Ananzo delivered Davido’s banger With You which he featured Omah Lay, while washing cars. The video he posted on his TikTok account quickly went viral, catching the attention of Davido.
