He was bid a fantastic farewell by the Ignite Media Group. Randy Abbey has been a popular journalist at Metro TV for decades. His resignation came as a shock with sources saying he is retiring.

News emanating from the camp of the newly elected National Democracy Congress says president-elect John Dramani Mahama is set to appoint the great Randy Abbey as the Minister for Youth and Sports in his government.

Randy Abbey, 50, is no new to Sports especially football issues as he has been a football administrator for a very long time. Flashback to 2006, he received a Grand Medal for his immeasurable contributions toward Ghana qualifying for its first-ever FIFA World Cup in Germany.

Currently, he is part of the inept Executive Council Members of the Black Stars.

The astute former journalist resigned from his role at Metro TV because he is very certain he will be appointed the next Sports Minister for Ghana.
