Rayo Vallecano’s Ghanaian centre-back Abdul Mumin has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury on Sunday at the Campo de Futbol de Vallecas in Madrid.

Abdul Mumin suffered an injury in the 35th minute and was substituted in the 35th minute. He was replaced by Aridane Hernandez. The Madrid-based club drew 1-1 at home against Sevilla, helping them to move to 7th place on the table, just two points behind the 6th-placed Betis.

Rayo Vallecano will have to do with one of their dependable defenders, Mumin, who has been the main man in their defence. Mumin has made 24 appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

The Ghanaian also will at least miss the Black Stars’ next two games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar. Ghanaian players Alidu Seidu and Fatawu Abdul Issahaku have also been ruled out for the rest of the season
