Europe is the continent that pays extremely well when it comes to football, from players to coaches and referees to technical staff.

Working in Europe in sports is a dream, and how those involved are heavily paid is one of the biggest incentives that attract the attention of people.

Spanish media Marca on Thursday revealed the exact amount referees are paid across the top five leagues in Europe, with Spanish Laliga leading the log with £4,200 as a match fee with an average salary of £250,000 annually.

The Italian Serie A comes second with £3,400 as the match fee and an average annual salary of £140,000.

The German Bundesliga is the third on the log with a £125,000 annual salary but a match fee of £3,600 which is higher than Italian Serie A’s match fee.

The French Ligue 1 referees receive an annual salary of £120,000 and a match fee of £2,900.

The English Premier League, among the top five European leagues, pays their referees so low with an annual salary of £70,000. Referees are paid £1,116 per match in England which is the lowest compared to the other leagues.
