Mamelodi Sundowns manager Rulani Mokwena has shared his ideas ahead of the AFCON. The 2023 CAN is finally here as Ivory Coast and Guinea Bissau prepare to open the competition with a blockbuster fixture.

The 36-year-old Masandawana head coach Rulani Mokwena says his heart is for South Africa.

“I think Nigeria, Morocco, Egypt, Ghana and Senegal will be competitive, but my heart, as a South African, is with Bafana Bafana.” — Mamelodi Sundowns’ coach on the AFCON.

The South African tactician thinks Ghana will do well in the competition as they can have what it takes to excel.

It is very difficult to predict the winner of the 2023 AFCON as the top teams are fully prepared and focused on the trophy.
