Debutants in football competitions find it difficult to compete as history says they always lack the experience and the can-do-attitude to deliver.

Samartex are preparing to face the Cameroonian champions Victoria United in the first preliminary round of the 2024-25 CAF Champions League.

“It’s a privilege and I take inspirationion from any of them like[Karim] Zito and [Evans] Adotey. Medeama as a club, what they have been able to do, we are all proud o f them,” Nurudeen Amadu said, praising the succes of Adotey Evans.

The Medeama gaffer became the first ever coach to take any Ghanaian club to the Money Zone of the CAF Champions League since 2012. Medeama failed to progress from a group containing eventual winners Al Ahly, Belouizdad and Yanga but enjoyed every bit of the ride.

Dreams FC reached the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup with Karim Zito leading them from the dugout. Nurudeen Amadou eulogized Zito.

“Since it’s our debut, we are also trying to go far, trying to do our best. It’s not going to be easy. The technical team, the playing body, the management, and the investors are all motivated to carry the team to a different level,” Nurudeen Amadu added.

Samartex head coach Nurudeen Amadu is very hopeful that his team will do well. He assured Ghanaians how everyone connected to the club is preparing very well for the Africa journey.
