Sammy Gyamfi sues Afia Schwar for GH10m over ‘Defamation’
Samuel Gyamfi, referred to as Sammy Gyamfi, has filed a lawsuit against media figure Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, commonly known as Afia Schwarzenegger, for purported defamation.
The case, which was filed in the High Court in Accra, originates from a viral video in which Afia reportedly made claims about Gyamfi’s inappropriate behaviour related to women and property acquisition in the United States.
The order, issued on July 23, 2025, requires Afia to reply within eight days. Gyamfi is requesting a court ruling that the statements made in the video were defamatory.
The comments, expressed in Asante Twi, indicated that Gyamfi was covertly supplying cars to women at the University of Ghana and that his wife’s family had obtained property in the United States. Gyamfi is requesting a total of GHS10 million in both general and exemplary damages.
He is requesting the court to issue a permanent injunction to stop the defendant from publishing any more defamatory content.
He is also asking for a retraction and a straightforward apology to be published on the front and back pages of The Daily Graphic three times, as well as shared on TikTok and other social media platforms.
The lawsuit is being handled by attorney Saani Mahmoud Abdul-Rasheed from SUSTINERI Attorneys PRUC.
Sammy Gyamfi says that the alleged claims are destroying his hard-earned reputation and are also causing public ridicule, warranting legal redress.
