FECAFOOT has confirmed the sacking of Rigobert Song Bahanag as the head coach of the Cameroonian National Team.

Cameroon was shambolic during the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast as the Indomitable Lions were eliminated in Round 16 by Nigeria in a 2-0 defeat.

In an interview with France 24, FECAFOOT president Samuel Eto’o officially confirmed the sacking of the former skipper of the Indomitable Lions, Rigobert Song, as the head coach.

Song took over from Toni Conceicao after the 2021 AFCON and helped Cameroon qualify for both the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the 2023 AFCON but failed to qualify from the group stage in both tournaments.

Cameroon will search for a new coach in the coming days as it was disclosed on Tuesday that President Paul Biya, 91, will lead the search for the new head coach.
