A violent clash between students of Sokode Senior High School and members of the Sokode Gborgame community has resulted in several injuries and damage to properties.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, February 23, 2025, has led to a temporary shutdown of the school.

The cause of the altercation remains unclear, but it’s reported that the situation quickly escalated, drawing the attention of security agencies and regional leadership.

James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, along with members of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), the Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Edem Kofi Kpotosu, officials from the Education Directorate, and other stakeholders, rushed to the school to addres situation, when had the information.

In response to the clash, authorities have made transportation arrangements to facilitate the safe return of students to their respective homes while a thorough investigation is carried out.

However, a committee has been established to look into the matter and recommend appropriate measures to prevent future occurrences of such disturbances.
