Ghana’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams, has expressed his displeasure in the violent scenes that disrupted the Ghana Premier League clash between Basake Holy Stars and Nations FC at Ayinase.

The Matchday 33 encounter at the Ampain AAK II Sports Arena ended before the first half after after Nations FC players and officials protested a second controversial penalty awarded to Holy Stars.

Nations FC discontinued the game citing unfair officiating towards them.

The Sports Minister, speaking to Sporty FM, was disappointed with the news that the game ended prematurely.

“I have been informed about the unfortunate incident, though I have not yet received a full briefing on what exactly transpired,” he said.

“Investigations are ongoing, but, unfortunately, we continue to witness such scenes in our football.”

“What must be done is to have proper education of the club owners, even before we turn to the fans,” Adams stated.

Truthfully, Ghanaian team owners need massive education because most of the hooligans are fuelled by their decisions.

“Some club owners are not up to the task beyond financing their teams. Some managers are clueless about what football entails. We need to address this group before focusing on the fans, referees, and match commissioners.”

Ghanaian football needs massive restart because organizers, team owners, clubs and fans are all not up to the task of running a successful football.

Nations FC and Basake Holy Stars await the GFA’s decision on their unfinished clash on Sunday in Anyinase with the latter optimistic they will win three points and three goals.
