It was a dream come true for the legendary Serbian Tennis star, Novak Djokovic as he defeated his new rival, Carlos Alcaraz, two straight sets to lift the precious gold medal as he has been waiting for all his career.

The 37-year-old Serbian super star has been so sensational in his career after winning an unbelievable 24 Grand Slams. The only trophy he had never won is the Olympic GOLD medal and he incredibly won it against the new kid on the block, Alcaraz.

After suffering in Beijing 08, London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, the great Djokovic promised to fight for the ultimate for his beloved Serbia.

He won 7-6(3) 7-6(2) at the Court Phillipe Chartrier in front of an enthused crowd.

Carlos Alcaraz was tipped by many for gold after defeating the master in their last two meetings (2023,2024) in the finals of the Wimbledon Open. The 21-year-old had a huge psychological advantage over the 37-year-old after he had won French Open and Wimbledon in the last 3 months .

Djokovic showed immense character and maturity and defeated the young boy who is set to dominate the world of Tennis for a long time.

With the addition of Olympic Gold medal to his marvelous achievements, Novak Djokovic is undisputed king in the Open Era of Tennis.
