Transfer News| Hansi Flick sanctions signing of Nico Williams

German tactician Hansi Dieter Flick has given the green light to Barcelona authorities to sign Nico Williams for Athletic Bilbao in the upcoming transfer window.

The Spanish International was in the books of the Catalan club in the 2024 summer transfer window but Bilbao refused to let him go and eventually renewed his contract and improved the release clause.

The left-hand forward who is so terrific is admired by Hansi Flick as he thinks Williams will add a lot to his attacking options of Yamal, Lewandowski, Raphinha and Ferran Torres.

The 22-year-old has scored five goals and provided four assists in 24 La Liga games.

Teams like Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are all expected to chase Nico Williams in the 2025 summer transfer window but he prefers Barcelona to the rest.
