Berekum Chelsea star forward Stephen Amankona has agreed to sign for Tanzanian giants Simba SC.

The clubs, according to the Tanzanian media, are in the final stages of negotiations with Simba, ready to offer $165,000 to Berekum Chelsea for the Ghanaian.

Steve Mukwaala, who recently joined Simba SC from Asante Kotoko, will be offloaded with Amankona to replace the Ugandan forward.

Stephen Amankonah won the 2023-24 top scorer in the Ghana Premier League after scoring 19 goals for Berekum Chelsea, helping the club to finish third with 10 points behind the eventual winners, Samartex SC.

The 24-year-old has scored 5 goals in 12 Ghana Premier League thus far in the current campaign.

Ghana Premier League stars who have recently secured a move to Tanzania have struggled to make impacts in the league, with Hafiz Konkoni, Augustine Okrah, and Steve Mukwala having all struggled.

Amankonah is ready and excited for the new challenge but must work extra hard to enjoy his stay in East Africa.
