Donald Trump has once again stirred controversy with remarks directed at UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, urging him to “straighten up” Britain.

“They’ve [Keir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron] got to straighten out their countries. London is having a lot of problems,” the US president told reporters.

Speaking in a typically blunt fashion, Trump suggested that the United Kingdom is facing “a lot of problems” and that Starmer must take responsibility for fixing them.

His comments, delivered during a wider critique of European allies, were framed as both a warning and a challenge, casting doubt on Britain’s stability under Starmer’s leadership.

The U.S. president’s remarks touched on sensitive issues, including Britain’s handling of international disputes and its economic standing.

Trump criticised London’s decision-making on matters such as the Chagos Islands, calling it “stupidity,” and reignited his long-standing demand for U.S. control of Greenland.

By linking these disputes to Britain’s supposed weakness, Trump painted a picture of a country in need of stronger leadership and direction.
