The 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers have reached a very crucial stage where most of the teams know their fate now. Many are in contention, while others are just participating for formality’s sake.

Only two groups have been decided now in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Africa.

Morocco qualified for their 7th appearance at the World Cup after they smashed Niger 5-0 in Rabat on Friday to end everything in Group E.

The Atlas Lions on Monday travelled to Zambia and recorded a 2-0 win to show their dominance in the group.

The Atlas Lions are 11 points ahead of second-placed Tanzania, having won all seven games. Walid Regragui’s side has scored 21 goals and conceded just two.

North African side Tunisia in Group H have won the sole slot after defeating Equatorial Guinea 1-0 in Malabo.

The Tunisians have won 22 points from eight games and are 10 points clear of the second-placed team, Namibia, with two games to spare.

Tunisia have won seven games and drawn just one. The Eagles of Carthage will participate in their 7th FIFA World Cup.

It looks clear that four out of the five North African representatives will win their groups and qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

Algeria and Egypt are sitting on top of their respective groups and are the favourites now.
