Two weeks ago, a 58-year-old Lebanese man called Omar Mikati was found dead in his home in East Legon. Mar was found dead in a pool of blood with a special team from the Ghana Police Service collecting a piece of forensic evidence from the scene of the crime.

After thorough investigations by the police, a Samsung phone, two iPhones and an ATM registered in the name of Ankrah Twumasi were discovered in Omar’s home. Twumasi was tracked by the Police at Samsam Medie, where he got arrested and later mentioned the name of his partner.

Police on Tuesday 2nd July apprehended Asiedu at Kutunse where he was hiding. The police were led to where they threw a knife they used to murder the late Omar, which is now being tested for evidence.

Both suspects are in police custody, having appeared in court already. Asiedu and Twumasi are expected to reappear before the law court on Tuesday, 8th July 2025, for further investigations.
