UCL| PSG beats Arsenal 2-1 to book final ticket to Munich

The French champions won 2-1 at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night to secure the final spot in the UEFA Champions League finals.

Luis Enrique’s side took a huge advantage in the first leg, winning 1-0, making the second leg difficult for the Gunners.

Arsenal started pretty well in Paris after squandering two good chances within the first five minutes of play. In the third minute, Declan Rice latched onto an incredible lofted pass from Jurien Timber in the home side’s six-yard box, but his header failed to hit the back of the net as it went wide of the left post.

A minute later, Gabriel Martinelli had a great chance in PSG’s six-yard box, whose low shot was pulled off by the fantastic Donnarumma to prevent Arsenal from taking an early lead.

In the 8th minute, Arsenal’s skipper Martin, who manoeuvred his way to a rebound on the edge of the box, shot to the bottom right corner with Donnarumma making another wonderful save to deny Arsenal again. PSG survived the massive attack from the visitors.

Kvaraskhelia’s shot in the 17th minute hit the post, sending a huge message to Arsenal that they are back in the game. PSG opened the scoring in the 27th minute after Ruiz picked the ball from a rebound and unleashed a shot from the edge of the which hit the inside of the post to give PSG the lead. Barcola in three minutes failed to double Paris’ lead after his shot was saved by Raya.

PSG ended the half with a 1-0 lead but a 2-0 lead on aggregate.

Arsenal’s best chance came in the 64th minute when Saka’s wonderful strike was saved unbelievably by Donnarumma. A penalty was awarded to PSG in the 66th minute, where Vitinha stepped up and missed, with Raya saving it to keep Arsenal in the tie.

Hakimi scored a beautiful goal in the 74th minute to put the tie beyond Arsenal, as there was no way back for the English side.

Bukayo Saka scored Arsenal’s sole goal of the tie with 76 minutes played, where he took advantage of a melee in the PSG box to score to make the score line 2-1. It was too late for the Gunners to stage a comeback as PSG showed how organised they are by preventing Arsenal from mounting a late pressure.

The finals will be played between the French side PSG and the Italian side Inter Milan.PSG,
