A disturbing incident at the Wa T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School (Wa Amass) has left a final-year student in critical condition after he was allegedly stabbed by a fellow student during a violent confrontation on campus.

The attack, which occurred on the night of Tuesday, July 22, 2025, has thrown the school community into shock and raised fresh concerns about student violence and security on second-cycle school campuses.

The victim, identified as Iddrisu Ibrahim, popularly known among his peers as “Lincoln,” is a third-year Agricultural Science student from Bulenga.

According to eyewitnesses, the altercation began over a dispute concerning a mobile phone video. Lincoln had reportedly recorded his friend and classmate, Hafis, also known as “Baayaawa,” without his consent. Hafis, a final-year General Arts student from Bawku, became furious upon learning about the video.

Several students who witnessed the events said Hafis confronted Lincoln, demanding the video be deleted. However, Lincoln allegedly refused to comply, downplaying Hafis’ anger.

The confrontation escalated when Hafis reportedly issued a direct threat, warning that he would stab Lincoln if the video wasn’t deleted.

Lincoln, according to students nearby, laughed off the threat and dared Hafis to act.

Tragically, Hafis is said to have pulled out a knife in front of stunned onlookers and stabbed Lincoln in both the rib and stomach.

The attack occurred near the school’s hostel block. After the stabbing, Hafis attempted to flee the campus, but word of the incident spread quickly, prompting a group of agitated students to mobilize in what appeared to be an attempted retaliation.

However, a timely intervention by the Ghana Police Service prevented further escalation.

Hafis was apprehended and is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.

Despite suffering serious wounds, Lincoln reportedly managed to walk some distance—from the hostel area to near the school library—before collapsing.

A female student who witnessed the aftermath said, “When Lincoln came out, the knife was still in his body. It was horrifying. Some students removed it and rushed him to the hospital.”

He was first treated by the school’s health staff before being transferred to the Wa Regional Hospital, where his condition is currently described as critical but stable.

The incident has left many students shaken and prompted concerns among parents and school authorities.

While an official statement from the school’s administration is still pending, security has been beefed up on campus.

Guidance and counseling units have also been activated to offer psychological support to affected students.
