Bibiani Gold Stars are without a win in their last three games for the first time in the year 2024. The last time the Miners failed to win a game in three was December 2023 under the tutelage of the late Micheal Osei who died just last week.

Gold Stars went 9 games without a win in October, November and December 2023 and it was a massive blow to the club as they were facing a huge battle. Changes needed to be made, so they sacrificed Micheal Osei and replaced him with Godwin Ablordey as the interim before confirming Frimpong Manso as the permanent coach.

Since the appointment of the former Black Stars centre-back as the head coach, 11 months ago, the club has been so sensational that defeats have not been part of the plans.

Gold Stras have suffered 5 league defeats in the year 2024 with the first one of the season coming in round 11. Medeama beat Bibiani Gold Stars 2-0 to halt their unbeaten run.

In an interview with AP Sports, the experienced and dependable Gold Stars midfielder, Frank Amankwaah disclosed that their first defeat of the season was caused by the sudden death of their former boss, Micheal Osei.

“We lost against Dreams because of Micheal Osei’s death, I can say that”, Frank sadly said.

“En route to Accra on our bus, we heard the unfortunate news of the passing away of our former boss. It changed our mood; it broke us down, so I can say it led to our defeat to Dreams,” the midfielder concluded.

Bibiani Gold Stars have the opportunity to bounce back to winning ways on Sunday afternoon at their favourite Duns Park. The club has yet to taste defeat since Frimpong Manso started his reign in December 2023 in Bibiani.

Lying second on the league log, Bibiani Gold Stars will welcome the unimpressive Vision FC, who have failed to win in any of their last 6 games, drawing three and losing three, including the 3-0 disastrous defeat against Nations FC at Abrankese and it looks like a favourable fixture for Frimpong Manso in their bid to remain in the top two.
