Otto Addo is 100% not safe with his position as the head coach of Ghana even after the numerous assurances from the Ghana Football Association’s executive.

Many Ghanaians still want him to be sacked after failing to qualify for the 2025 AFCON, but the leaders of the GFA have made it clear that they are solidly behind Otto Addo.

Amid numerous calls for his sacking, Executive Council Member of Ghana Football Association, Nana Oduro Sarfo, has backed the underfire Otto Addo.

“We will not allow anybody to put pressure on us to sack Otto Addo,” Nana Oduro Sarfo told Guide Radio.

Pressure indeed is mounting on the GFA to act, especially when they sacked one of the assistant coaches, Joseph Laumann, and left the head coach. Ghanaians think it is so unbelievable to see an assistant coach being sacked while the head coach is retained.

Desmond Offei, Black Satellites head coach has joined John Paintsil to assist Otto Addo.

Veteran German tactician who won AFCON 2002 with Caneroon, Winfried Schafer, is the new Technical Advisor for the GFA.

Ghana will host Chad in MD5 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and visit Madagascar in MD6. Both games will be played in March 2025.
