Bibiani Gold Stars were drawn against Algerian side JS Kabylie in the preliminary round of the 2025-26 CAF Champions League.
The Ghanaian champions will need to prepare extremely well to stand any chance of eliminating the North Africans because teams from that region have become unbeatable for West African clubs in recent years.
Gold Stars are currently preparing for next season and have targeted the imminent GHALCA Top 4 to help them hit top gear before facing JS.
The Miners will also compete in the Super Cup against CAF Confederation Cup-bound Asante Kotoko before the season commences.
Frimpong Manso, head coach of the club, is optimistic that the two competitions will be enough for the club’s preparation.
“The GHALCA Top 4 and the Super Cup will help us in our preparation towards our match with JSK. At the moment, we are looking at the first game,” he told Graphic Sports.
The GHALCA Top will commence on Wednesday, 20th August, whilst the Super Cup will be played on 31st August against Asante Kotoko.
JSK will visit Ghana for the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League on 20th September and host the Ghanaians in Algiers a week later.
