The defending champions of the UEFA Champions League, Real Madrid, was beaten 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeau by AC Milan.

Malik Thiaw, Alvaro Morata and Tijani Reijnder were the scorers for the visitors as Vini Jnr’s penalty was a mere consolation for the Spaniards.

The Los Blancos had 12 days to prepare for the game after the 4-0 smashing by Barcelona in the La Liga. The visit to Valencia was postponed due to the heavy flood over the weekend which has led to disaster in the city of Valencia.

Many thought Real Madrid was going to bounce back to wining ways but Fonseca and his Milan side had different plans for the Madrid giants.

Speaking after the defeat, Italian manager carlo Ancelloti admitted that his side is indeed missing something.

“We’re missing something. We could not show a good version of ourselves, especially in the last two games. It is normal to be worried, the next two nights will be long.”

Los Blancos are missing everything that helped them won their 15th UCL title at Wembley last season.

There’s zero understanding, zero confidence and lack of can-do-attitude among the playing body at the moment. The manager has a lot to do to turn things around before the end of the month.

“We had many opportunities in attack, maybe we could have scored more. Probably we lacked being clinical, but the main problem we have to fix is how easily our opponents are creating opportunities”, Ancelloti added.

Teams have find it so easy to open up Real Madrid recently. Barcelona created enough chances in the 4-0 winning in the El Classico just like AC Milan on Wednesday night.

Carlo Ancelloti is expected to fix it before they travel to Anfield to face the red-hot Liverpool in the UCL before the end of November.
