Massive changes were made as promised by the Ghana Football Association in the Black Stars after the disastrous 2025 AFCON qualifiers campaign.

German veteran head coach Winfried Schafer was named the new technical director and advisor for the Black Stars as part of the changes the FA made.

The experienced gaffer landed in Ghana on Tuesday morning to start preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana will welcome Chad to the Accra Sports Stadium and travel to Madagascar in March for rounds 5 and 6 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Stars sit second in Group I, having won 9 points from a possible 12 trailing Comoros only on goals difference.
