It was Just five-THOUSANDTHS of a second that separated Noah Lyles and Kishane Thompson in the finals of the 100m.

That was how close it was. The official time for Lyles and Thompson was 9.79. How do we seperate them? It was the best photo finish one could ever come across in his or her entire life.

American super star Noah Lyles passed the finish line in 9.784 seconds, while Thompson finished in 9.789 seconds, that was the exact difference.

The finals exceeded expectations with the eventual winner Lyles the favourite on everyone’s lips. There was no way no Jamaican was never going to hurt him. Jamaica has been a thorn in the flesh of everyone in the sprint since Usain Bolt started.

American Fred Kerley won bronze in 9.81.

South African smooth operator Akani Simbine had a great start but he was a bit nervous in the last 10 meters making his competitors leapfrog him. He run 9.82 to finish 4th as it is a National Record.

Defending champion Jacobs of Italy finished 5th at 9.85 which is a Seasonal Best. Letsile Tebogo coming in 6th at 9.85 is a national record for Botswana.

Kenneth Bednarek finished 7th while Oblique Seville finished 8th running 9.91.
