A 65-year-old man who walked from Kumasi to Accra to commemorate President John Dramani Mahama’s inauguration on January 7, Alhaji Ayaana Yakubu, has been rewarded with a brand-new Renault car, an undisclosed sum of money, and shopping vouchers worth GH¢5,000.

The gesture was made possible by a philanthropist who chose to remain anonymous but sought to recognize Alhaji Ayaana’s extraordinary effort.

Renowned broadcaster and showbiz personality Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) presented the gifts on behalf of the donor.

Sharing the touching moment on Instagram, KOD posted a video of the handover ceremony where Alhaji Ayaana, visibly emotional, received the car keys and explored his new vehicle.

“This afternoon, I had the honour of presenting Mr. Yakubu—a gentleman who walked all the way from Kumasi to congratulate H.E. President Mahama on his victory—with a brand-new Renault car, an undisclosed sum of money, and shopping vouchers worth GH¢5,000 from Nineteen57,” KOD wrote in his post.

KOD expressed his delight in being part of the event and commended the anonymous benefactor for their generosity, which made the initiative possible.
