At the Executive Committee (EXCO) meeting chaired by CAF president DR Patrice Motsepe on Monday, December 16, 2024, in Marrakech, key dates for the 2025 football calendar were announced.
The final draw for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025), to be hosted by Morocco, will take place on January 27, 2025, in Rabat, Morocco.
The date for the final tournament was announced, with the opening match scheduled to take place on December 21, 2025. The final match will be played on January 18, 2026. It is the first time that the tournament will be played across two different years- kick off in 2025 Christmas and end in late 2026 January.
Again, Morocco was confirmed as the host nation for the TotalEnergies CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in both 2025 and 2026.
