Everton has finally sacked English manager Sean Dyche after a disastrous run of just one win in eleven games, leaving them with just a point above the relegation zone.
The Toffees was acquired by Roundhouse Capital Holdings, an entity within the Friedkin Group, which bought Farhad Moshiri’s 94% stake in the club held through Blue Heaven Holdings just after a week has decided to part ways with Dyche.
Sean Dyche, 53, replaced Frank Lampard as the manager of Everton in January 2023 and has always been involved in a fight to avoid relegation.
Club’s official statement
“Everton Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as Senior Men’s First Team Manager with immediate effect.
“Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Mark Howard and Billy Mercer have also left the club. The process to appoint a new Manager is underway and an update will be provided in due course. Under-18s head coach Leighton Baines and club captain Seamus Coleman will take charge of first-team affairs on an interim basis.”
Who is the favourite to replace Dyche?
The new owners, Friedkin Group, has communicated that they will announce a new manager before the club’s clash against Aston Villa next week.
David Moyes, who managed the club between 2002 to 2013, is a contender alongside Fernabahce’s Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho who is no new to English Football.
