Born in Accra to a Ghanaian father and German mother, 29-year-old Kofi Kyereh chose Ghana at the expense of Germany, and he feels super excited about the decision.

“Representing Ghana on the international stage has been one of the most humbling and transformative experiences of my life,” Kyereh said.

Kofi Kyereh moved to Germany with his parents at age one and has experienced German culture all his life. Choosing to play for the Black Stars has allowed him to experience another culture making him feel very proud.

“Personally, it’s about carrying the legacy and dreams of my family and community every time I step onto the pitch.

“Professionally, it’s a reminder of the hard work and sacrifices that have paved my journey—an opportunity to test myself against the best in the world while staying true to my roots,” he concluded.

The playmaker has made 18 appearances for Ghana since 2021 but has unfortunately been missing in action for nearly three years.

Kyereh has been out for 764 days for Ghana and Freibug since the 2022-23 season, missing a total of 99 matches for club and country as of the time of writing this piece.
