According to The Athletic, veteran Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti has agreed to step down at the end of the season as the manager of Real Madrid and sign for Brazil to become the new head coach of the Selecao.

The 65-year-old manager has been under severe criticism since being thrashed by Arsenal in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, with many Real Madrid fans calling for his sacking because they feel his methods are archaic.

Don Carlo, having been chased by Brazil since Tite departed after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the astute tactician is set to make history by becoming the first Italian to coach the Brazilian senior national team.

“When the La Liga season is done, Carlo Ancelotti will LEAVE Real Madrid and become the new manager of Brazil,” tweeted The Athletic.

Carlo Ancelotti has the track record of bringing the best out of many Brazilian players, having worked with Cafu, Serginho, Roque Junior, Rivaldo, Dida and Kaka at AC Milan.

In his return to Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti has transformed Vinicius Junior, Rodry Goes, and Eder Militao, making them proper footballers. He also trusts youngster Endryk, who Brazil expects to lead them shortly. The CBF have always admired the five-time UCL winner and will expect him to transform the current Brazilian players by instilling in them a great winning mentality.

“He will not be Real Madrid’s manager for the Club World Cup,” added the Athletic. The FIFA Club World Cup is a little bit over a month away, and the Athletic have reported that Carlo Ancelotti will not manage Real Madrid in the tournament.

Carlo Ancelotti can end the GOAT debate if he can win the 2026 FIFA World Cup and also dethrone Argentina as the South American champions.

Dorival Jr. was sacked after the March International break, where he was beaten and embarrassed by perennial rivals Argentina in Buenos Aires in the World Cup qualifiers.
