The Member of Parliament for Bosome Freho, Nana Asafo Adjei, has undertaken a monitoring exercise across Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) centres in the District to ensure strict compliance with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) standards and to personally assess the conditions under which candidates are writing their exams.

The MP was joined by key district stakeholders including the District Chief Executive, Charles Appiah Kubi, the District Director of Education, and other education and civic leaders in the constituency.

The team visited multiple examination centres to observe the conduct of the exams and interact with both students and invigilators.

According to the MP, the visit was primarily to ensure that examination protocols were being upheld and to understand the realities faced by students sitting for their final basic school examination.

“We want to be sure that our children are writing their exams under the best conditions possible, and in full compliance with WAEC regulations,” he stated during the exercise.

Beyond the oversight mission, Nana Asafo Adjei used the occasion to deliver a heartfelt promise to all candidates.

He pledged to support every BECE candidate in the district with a package aimed at easing their transition into senior high school.

The MP’s post-exam support package includes: One trunk per student, One chop box, 10 exercise books and five big notebooks.

These items, he noted, are essential for students preparing to enter boarding school and are part of a broader initiative to reduce the financial burden on families in the constituency.

“I am a product of grace and education,” the MP declared. “In my current role, I see it as both a duty and a privilege to provide the same, and even greater opportunities, for the young people of Bosome Freho.”

The initiative has been widely welcomed by parents and educators in the district, who see it as a practical demonstration of leadership and investment in the future of the constituency’s youth.

With the BECE serving as a critical academic milestone for thousands of Ghanaian students, the MP’s move has drawn praise from educational stakeholders who have long called for stronger community and political support for basic education.
