Southampton and Atalanta have confirmed an agreement for a deal for Ghanaian forward Kamaldeen Sulemana. The Italian side will pay €17.5m as an initial fee with performance bonuses and a sell-on clause to be paid.

“Atalanta agrees deal with Southampton to sign Kamaldeen Sulemana. Deal for Ghana int’l €17.5m + €4 add-ons + team bonuses + 15% sell-on. 4yr contract & club option of 5th. Cutting short holiday in Accra to do medical in Bergamo tomorrow,” British transfer guru David Ornstein tweeted.

Kamaldeen is in Ghana, enjoying his holidays in Accra, but must travel immediately to Bergamo to have his medicals for Atalanta in Italy.

The 23-year-old Techiman-born moved to Southampton in February 2023 in a deal worth 18m euros. The talented forward can play across all the positions in attack, and Atalanta believes he will fit into their system.

The Ghanaian international, who is a graduate of the famous Right to Dream Academy, is highly rated and will be looking forward to showing his talent to the world.
