Taxi Driver battling for life after his ex-girlfriend stabs him

30-year-old Emmanuel Otabil, a taxi driver, is battling for his life at the University of Ghana Medical Centre after his estranged ex-girlfriend stabbed him.

The suspect, Augustina Adoma, is said to have visited Emmanuel’s residence at Sowutuom Race Course unannounced on June 26, where he found him sitting with a lady. Upon seeing them, she reportedly poured water on them and took away Emmanuel’s Samsung mobile phone.

Augustina returned later the same day, around 4 pm, in the absence of Emmanuel, and with a duplicate key, she had access to his kiosk and set fire to his personal belongings, including a mattress, carpet, blankets and bedsheets.

A confrontation then ensued between them in the evening as Emmanuel confronted Augustina over the incident and demanded the return of his phone.

During the altercation, the suspect took a knife from an orange seller and stabbed Emmanuel in the left side of his chest. The suspect is currently in police custody.
