A security guard, named Kwabena Boateng, 65, has been assassinated by robbers at a One District One Factory (1D1F) facility in Gomoa Akotsi in the Central Region.
The robbers who were trying to steal two electricity transformers when the guard tried to stop them, they tied his hands and legs and covered his head with a plastic bag. He could not breathe and died from suffocation.
It was the second time the man had been attacked while on duty. After killing him, the robbers took some electric cables and ran away with the two ECG transformers from the De-Bridge company site.
The unfortunate killing of Mr. Boateng has shocked people in the area. Many residents are now worried about the safety of workers and the security of factory sites in the region.
