The Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring strict adherence to international standards and protocols in the installation of metering systems at the Petroleum Hub.

This commitment was emphasized by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Operations and Technical Services at PHDC, Onasis Rosely, at the inaugural Oil and Gas Measurement Summit held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

The summit’s theme, “Unlocking Value Through Accurate Metering: The Key to Operational Efficiency,” highlighted the critical connection between precise metering systems and effective revenue generation.

Rosely stressed that accurate metering systems are essential for precise and efficient measurement of oil and gas products, which is crucial for revenue generation and operational efficiency.

Challenges and Solutions

Rosely also addressed challenges stemming from inefficient metering systems, advocating for cohesive policies and collaboration among stakeholders in the oil and gas industry to mitigate systemic leakages.

He emphasized that inaccurate or inconsistent metering practices create significant discrepancies, leading to revenue losses, regulatory violations, and diminished trust.

To address these challenges, Rosely called for policy alignment, capacity building, and collaborative oversight.
