Bibiani Gold Stars could not continue their marriage with midfielder Frank Amankwah after both parties failed to agree on a new deal.

The central midfielder who joined Bibiani Gold Stars from Eleven Wonders in January 2020 and has been an integral part of the Miners squad since then waved the club goodbye on Thursday afternoon.

Nicknamed Pablo Aimar because of his diminutive stature and style of play, Frank Amankwah played 29 Premier League matches for Bibiani Gold Stars en route to their success in the 2024-25 season Premier League.

He was expected to be part of the club’s journey in the 2025-26 CAF Champions League, but has ended his stay with the Bibiani-based club.

Frank Amankwah’s return to Karela

Frank Amankwah returns to Karela United after six years of leaving the club. He has signed a two-year contract where he would have an option to extend the deal for another year, depending on his performance.

Karela’s head coach, Nurudeen Amadu, is ready to count on the 31-year-old midfielder’s experience for the upcoming season.

Karela United fought throughout the entire 2024-25 season against relegation and are preparing to challenge for the top half of the table.

Frank Amankwah is excited for the new challenge ahead. Frank is set to wear the number 23 jersey for Karela.

How Bibiani Gold Stars released Frank Amankwah

Per multiple sources, Frank saw his name among the list of players the club has released.

Frank immediately got disappointed with the club’s decision.

The relationship between him and the club is irreparable because the club has unceremoniously pushed him out.
